We know you have many options when deciding where to seek cancer treatment. Here are some of the reasons to choose Harrington Cancer Center:

Quality Care

Cancer is a devastating disease that affects 40% of our population in their lifetime. The burden of cancer decreases significantly when early detection, diagnosis and treatment services are locally available and accessible to the people of the High Plains. The Don & Sybil Harrington Cancer Center team believes that the people of this region deserve this reduced cancer burden. We are reducing this burden by combining the efforts of our multidisciplinary, experienced physicians and healthcare professionals with our state-of-the-art, advanced technology.

Cutting Edge Technology

Cutting edge technology available at The Don & Sybil Harrington Cancer Center includes access to clinical trials and investigational drugs through our Clinical Research Department, innovative treatment techniques such as immunotherapy and superior equipment including PET-CT, TomoTherapy, Trilogy with Rapid Arc and Stereotactic Radiosurgery.

Close to Home

Being treated at The Don & Sybil Harrington Cancer Center allows patients in our five state service area to stay at home while receiving cancer treatment. During the long and often difficult road of cancer treatment, having the comforts of home and the support of friends and relatives nearby eases the journey. Most of our patients are able to travel home every day, and those who require an extended stay in Amarillo can find a "home away from home" in a variety of reduced cost hotel suites and/or apartments made available through the Circle of Friends and other charity organizations.

Support Staff and Services

Cancer is an immensely complex disease and treatment involves treating more than the physical symptoms. Cancer treatment at The Don & Sybil Harrington Cancer Center treats the whole person through our broad range of support services and support staff. Some of the support services available at the Cancer Center include educational classes, support groups, nutritional counseling, social work services and patient and family counseling. There is also a laboratory on the premises that gives results of many blood tests in just minutes for added convenience. Over 70% of the nursing staff at Harrington Cancer Center is Oncology Certified Nurses (OCN). OCN certification recognizes qualified and experienced oncology nurses through testing. In addition, all chemotherapy administration nurses have completed a course through the Oncology Nursing Society on chemotherapy and biotherapy administration.
