Supportive Care

At BSA Harrington Cancer Center, we know a cancer diagnosis affects so much more than your physical health. Financial concerns, cancer treatment side effects, and emotional stressors can take a heavy toll. Our dedicated team offers a wide range of free services to support patients and caregivers emotionally, physically and spiritually through all stages of their cancer journey. With BSA Harrington Cancer Center, you’re never alone in cancer treatment and recovery.

Supportive Care Resources

BSA Harrington Cancer Center Boutique
Our Boutique, located on the main floor, offers FREE wigs, caps, turbans and seat belt-covers for our patients. To schedule an appointment for a personal wig fitting, call 806-212-1994.

Counseling Services
Individual and family counseling is available for patients coping with issues related to their cancer diagnosis. All counseling is provided by on staff Licensed Professional Counselors. Call 806-212-1991 to schedule an appointment.

Lymphedema Consults
Consults are offered twice each week at BSA Harrington Cancer Center by certified lymphedema specialists.

Nutrition Services
Nutrition plays an important role during every stage of cancer care. Our Board Certified Oncology Registered Dietitian is available to assist with nutritional questions or concerns. Call 806-212-1993 to set up a consultation.

Social Work Services
Social workers are available to assist patients and their families in accessing community resources, including transportation, temporary lodging, financial assistance and resources for help at home.

Spiritual Care
We provide ecumenical spiritual support for patients and families. Individual and group prayer time, conversation, and spiritual direction are available.

Patient Education 

Chemotherapy Class
This weekly class provides education about what the patient can expect while undergoing chemotherapy treatment. General side effects, when to call your doctor or nurse and basic cancer treatment principles are covered. Contact your clinical nurse for registration. Class date and time will be offered by the BSA Harrington Cancer Center clinical scheduler.

Radiation Education
This individual appointment provides education about what the patient can expect while undergoing radiation treatment. General side effects, when to call your doctor or nurse and basic cancer treatment principles are covered. Contact the BSA Harrington Cancer Center clinic scheduler for dates and times.

Tobacco Cessation Program
Individual support for those who are ready to be rid of nicotine addiction. For more information, please call 806-463-QUIT (7848).

Support Services

Better Together Support Group
Being part of a support group can help with specific fears and challenges that come to you on your cancer journey. This support group provides chances for learning and growth because we’re Better Together. Lunch is provided and this group meets the first Friday of the month, noon-1pm, BSA Harrington Cancer Center Conference Room, first floor.

Caregiver Education and Support
This session provides caregivers with an opportunity to share concerns and learn self-care skills in an individual setting. Call 806-212-1991 for more information.

Dialogue Support Group
This group focuses on healthy survivorship and is open to all cancer survivors and their caregivers. Join us for discussion in the BSA Harrington Center Conference Room, located on the first floor. 

Pampa Support Group
This group brings patients, survivors and caregivers together for a complimentary lunch and support. Meetings are held monthly at Central Baptist Church in Pampa.
